JEBF’s mission is to save women’s lives by raising awareness of ovarian cancer, funding ovarian cancer research focused on early detection, and advocating for more effective treatments of ovarian cancer.
The Jacqueline E. Bayley Foundation (JEBF) was formed in honor and memory of Jacqueline Elizabeth Bayley (1977 – 2011), a beautiful and inspiring force of life. DIagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer at age 31, Jackie was shocked to discover that an early detection test for ovarian cancer does not exist. The belief that an early detection test would have saved Jackie’s life inspires our mission and work.
To carry out its mission, JEBF funds ovarian cancer research at the Karmanos Cancer Institute and the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer center. JEBF board members meet with researching physicians at both institutions to advocate for the research of early detection methods.
